Corrections

At playedandrated, we correct errors rather than delete articles. When a substantive error is confirmed, we append a correction note at the foot of the article. This note states what was corrected and the date of the change. The original text is amended, but the note ensures transparency about the revision. This policy applies to all factual content across our reviews, comparisons, buying guides, and performance data.

A substantive correction is required for an error of fact that meaningfully alters a reader’s understanding. Examples include incorrect pricing, misstated system requirements, wrong release dates, or an inaccurate summary of a subscription model’s terms. Minor typographical errors, grammatical slips, or reformulations for clarity that do not change factual meaning are corrected silently as part of routine maintenance.

To report a potential error, please contact us with the full article address and a precise quote of the claim you believe is incorrect. Specify the correct information and, if possible, provide a source. For instance, if a review states incorrect hardware for a performance tier, cite the official specification. This allows for efficient verification.

We aim to assess and publish substantive corrections within two working days of confirmation. The correction process involves cross-checking the reported information against primary sources, such as official publisher communications, platform store pages, or direct performance testing.

Some reference pages, such as those for subscription services or hardware series, document facts that change over time. When a service’s price, regional availability, or included games library is officially updated, we treat this as a necessary factual update rather than a correction. The article will be revised to reflect the new state of the world, and a dated update note may be added to signal the change to returning readers.
