The editorial policy of Playedandrated defines what the site will and will not publish. Our content is confined to the subject in our spine: determining if a game is worth your money, your time, and if it will run on your machine. We do not publish content related to betting or gambling. We will never invent quotes or present speculation as fact. We do not offer health, legal or financial advice presented as instruction, and we do not report on the private lives of individuals associated with the industry.

Playedandrated separates reporting from reference material. News articles report on recent, verifiable events and announcements. Reference pages, such as those for genres, platforms, or series, provide consolidated, factual overviews built from our own reviews and comparisons. All opinion and judgement is confined to clearly labelled review sections, such as 'Is it worth it?' and 'Reviews', and is based on first-hand experience with the product. All other pages are presented as neutral, informative reference.

When a claim cannot be independently verified by our team, we will either omit it or clearly state the source of the claim and the fact that it remains unconfirmed. We do not present rumours as news. For images, we use real photographs or official media provided for promotional purposes, always crediting the source where one is known and required. We will never publish a software-generated image depicting a real person's face.
