GTA 6 Fans Find Real-Life Apartment
Fans found the real Miami building that inspired the apartment in GTA 6, but it was demolished after being sold in 2022.
Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe they have found the real-world Miami apartment that inspired the home of protagonists Jason and Lucia. The discovery was made using historical Google Maps imagery after the building's demolition was confirmed by a local business report.
The search began shortly after Rockstar Games released an extended look at GTA 6 last Thursday. Instagram user prettyboycuh used Google Maps to locate a tall teal building shown in the trailer. Turning to Street View revealed only a patch of grass where the apartment should have been. The user then changed the map's time setting from March 2026 to April 2013, around four months before GTA 5's launch, and the building appeared.
The Belmar Condominium
Rockstar has not officially confirmed the inspiration. The building, known as the Belmar Condominium, shares striking similarities with the in-game apartment. It is the same color, has the same fence, and the surrounding buildings match. The parking lot Jason uses in the trailer is also visible.
IGN verified the find. The building remained through 2017 before being repainted from salmon to darker grays. It appears on maps through 2022, but a 2024 recording shows the location completely empty.
Demolition After Sale
prettyboycuh further investigated and found a South Florida Business Journal report. It stated the Belmar Condo was sold for $12 million in 2022. The report noted the building was established in 1973 and was demolished sometime after the buyout. This means fans cannot visit the potential landmark.
The archived location can still be viewed on Google Maps. Archived Zillow listings revealed Rockstar's thoroughness extended to the apartment's interior. Brief scenes of Jason getting drinks from the fridge, watching TV, and choosing outfits appear to closely match the real-life layout.
GTA 6 provided about 27 minutes of footage last Thursday. The community's deep dive suggests intense scrutiny ahead of the game's launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Previous fan investigations have included looking to the stars for hints and other extreme measures.
