Dataminer Zullie the Witch has published a new video examining the detailed character models for two new NPC invaders introduced in Elden Ring's Tarnished Edition DLC. The video provides close-up looks at Knight Leontiel and Noble Broken Mask, characters added to the base game as part of the expansion. You can check the latest fixtures for the game's online activity.

Zullie the Witch is a longtime FromSoftware dataminer known for delving into game files. According to the PC Gamer report, her latest work reveals the high-definition details of these newly added non-player characters.

Knight Leontiel's Dark Souls Connection

Knight Leontiel is described as a direct reference to Lucatiel of Mirrah from Dark Souls 2. The character model features what the source calls an "HD remaster" of Lucatiel's signature conquistador-style armor and a nimble greatsword.

Removing the character's mask reveals a face that is practically identical to Lucatiel. Zullie the Witch points out a specific detail: a burn mark over Leontiel's left eye. This mark corresponds to the hollowing rot that afflicted Lucatiel in Dark Souls 2.

Noble Broken Mask and Goldmask

The second character, Noble Broken Mask, may offer clues about another figure in the game's lore. The source suggests this NPC could give players "a better idea of what his base game counterpart and spiritual rival, Goldmask, is supposed to look like."

While Goldmask's in-game model has a face, the report indicates it seems like a generic placeholder. In contrast, Noble Broken Mask possesses what is described as an "austere, pinched face with striking pale gold eyes." Zullie notes this character bears a strong resemblance to the typically obscured faces of Elden Ring's perfumer enemies.

Character Creation Sliders Provided

Zullie the Witch has also provided character creation slider information for both NPCs. This allows players to recreate Knight Leontiel or Noble Broken Mask as their own player character. The practice is possible because, as noted in the report, most FromSoftware NPCs are built using the same creation tools available to players. For more on character builds, see our stats page.

This is not the first analysis of its kind from this dataminer. The source states Zullie has previously made videos zooming in on NPCs from both Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Her work in this area dates back to 2016 with similar videos for Dark Souls 3's cast of characters.

The report concludes by noting the current activity around Elden Ring due to the Tarnished Edition release. It mentions that game servers are likely more populated now than they will be in the future. For players seeking the new Tarnished Edition gear, the source article references a separate guide by PCG writer Sean Martin.
