Morgan Freeman, now 89, looks back on a career spanning over five decades and more than 100 films, from his role as Batman's tech provider to portraying the U.S. President, Nelson Mandela, and even God. Despite his extensive filmography, Freeman admits he hasn't done everything he wanted as an actor-specifically, he wished he had starred in more action films as the protagonist.

## Regrets and Physical Limitations

Freeman's career took off when he was around 50, but he envies Denzel Washington for the action roles he has taken on. "Denzel Washington is doing what I wanted to do," Freeman admitted in an interview with Rolling Stone. He accepted the roles offered to him and believed he was doing well, but action films were not part of his journey. "I had so many physical problems that I couldn't do the kind of action required," he explained, acknowledging that age and health issues have made it impossible to pursue such roles now.

## A Lifelong Dream

Freeman's desire to be an action hero wasn't a late-in-life regret. "I was a movie kid. I grew up in the movies. When I wasn't in school, I was at the movies every day. That's what I wanted to do," he shared. While he didn't become the action star he dreamed of, he did appear in the genre, notably in the *Olympus Has Fallen* series alongside Gerard Butler and in the recent *Special Ops: Lioness*, where he plays the Secretary of State.

## A Legacy Beyond Action

Though Freeman may not be synonymous with high-octane roles like Denzel Washington, his career is filled with iconic performances that have left a lasting impact. From *Million Dollar Baby* to *The Shawshank Redemption*, Freeman has delivered memorable characters that resonate with audiences worldwide. His reflections highlight a career of depth and versatility, even if it didn't include the action-packed roles he once dreamed of.
