GTA 5 Transformed into Pokémon Go with Mod

The modder behind the transformation is reportedly working on turning GTA 5 into a PC version of GTA 6 or breaking it entirely.
The modder has been trying to convert Grand Theft Auto 5 into GTA 6 using mods for about a week now, and has learned a lot. For instance, most things will die if hit by a car at more than the speed of sound.
But the modder also learned that Los Santos is a lonely city. GTA 6's core is the Bonnie-and-Clyde love story of its protagonists, but Franklin, Michael and Trevor are insular men. They cruise the sun-drenched highways with no one in the passenger seat. The modder needed to change that. They needed to give them companions. They needed them to be the very best, like no one ever was.
The modder installed Pokémon Go GTA Edition, a mod that turns GTA 5 into Pokémon Go. The streets become denuded of people and filled with Geodudes, Charmandi, and Pikachu. The modder never actually saw Pikachu, but there was a Squirtle.
The modder is fairly certain that only Trevor can do the Poke-hunting, or it is possible that some previously installed mod has broken this one. Either way, out he went on Franklin's motorbike, on the prowl for new best friends. In what news reporters might call 'drive-bys' the modder captured for themselves a Geodude and a Squirtle.
But some Pokémon resist friendship. For instance, Charmander, who broke free of the modder's pokeball and began to curse at them in a thick eastern European accent, just like in the anime. The unfortunate truth of the matter is that the modder's encounter with Charmander was not a happy one. They came to blows in the road, and the last the modder left him he was burbling face-down in the tarmac having taken a powerful yet precise right hook to his snout. Don't worry everyone, he's just fainted.
The modder's work is reportedly featured on PC Gamer, a publication that keeps up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the team.
The modder, Josh, has been irreparably game-brained since playing Quake 2 on the family computer when they were much too young to be doing that. Their writing has been featured in Vice, Fanbyte, and the Financial Times. They'll play pretty much anything, and has written far too much on everything from visual novels to Assassin's Creed. Their most profound loves are for CRPGs, immersive sims, and any game whose ambition outstrips its budget. They think you're all far too mean about Deus Ex: Invisible War.
The modder must confirm their public display name before commenting.
The modder's work is a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of the gaming community.
